Local Hayes resident, Darran Davies has won the Charville by election, held on Thursday 6th May. The by election was called following the death of long time Charville Councillor, Neil Fyfe.
Following an excellent localised campaign, Darran beat the main Labour opposition in a seat within former Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell's constituency to land a devastating blow on the Hillingdon Labour group, who had declared at the close of poll that they had over 70 people on the ground on the day from all over London.
Full Result:
Darran Davies (Con) - 2,098
Steve Garelick (Lab) - 1,799
John Bowman (Green) - 164
Alexander Cunliffe (LibDem) - 107
Tiffany Rytter (Ind) - 61
Cllr Davies now joins Cllrs Brightman and Rodrigues in representing Charville, and following his victory commented:
"I'm delighted to have won the election so well. It was an amazing campaign and was great to meet so many residents around the area I'm from, as well as hearing about all the things that Hillingdon Council provides that they value. Now it's down to business and I look forward to being a true local champion for Charville."
